Go to most any store and apply for their credit card. Be sure to ask for a low credit amount like $300. Use it two times and pay it off in full the next month over six months.

Then call the company and close the account… Bingo you now have a good credit history with that company. Closing the account shows that you really don't need their money and that you can manage money very well.

Most cards offer 0% for a year to beginners, use it a little and pay off the balance.As long as you pay it off the card is free, if you don't pay it off it'll eat you alive.

There are certain company that offers "student credit cards" they have low interest rates and lower credit limits so you don't rack up a bunch of debt. I would recommend getting one from Citi Bank. Below is the link to their website

Im starting on my credit too and the best way is to get a credit card through your bank that you use. It's fast and convienant and your payments are always on time because the location is so near!

interests and all that stuff is explained and they dont do those hidden charges!
