can i get cash back on my credit card if im over my limit?

when i go to bells or tesco and pay for anyhting with my credit card they ask me if i want cashback. my card has a £100 limit and i have tried takking money from a cash machine but it wont let me, will it work in this circumstance?~?

I ASSUME YOU MEAN your daily cash withdrawal limit if so once you have reached the £100 limit for the day it will be impossible to exceed this either by cash back or machine
this is a tact you could have a million pounds in the bank but the computer will not allow you to exceed your daily limit under any circumstances AND ANYONE WHO SAYS DIFFERENT IS COMPLETELY WRONG so save yourself the embarrassment at the queue and don't try it.

If you have purchased goods to the value of £100 you will still be able to have a cash back up to the stores limit and you daily cash limit, purchases don't count against your limit it is only actual cash withdrawals that count towards your limit

Doubt it,they ask you before the transaction with the card so wont be until they process it that it will come up declined.

It might? But that's the risk you take, A/ for feeling stupid in the que because your cards been declined. B/ The bank might let you have this but there will be fees! Something like £30 + interest. C/ Your card may flash at the till as a hot card! The cashier has a right to keep your card and send it back to your bank. The cashier gets £50 for keeping it as a reward!!!!.D/ Either try to manage on what you have, if not lend off a friend. C/ Go talk to your bank! Best of luck anyway.

Themore impoprtant question is if you are over your limit why are you still using the card?

That's how you get into financial diffculty.

If you have maxed out and above the limit then I wouldn't think so. Is this not a warning about your spending? I am not being critical as I know there are lots of people struggling out there too, but think carefully before spending any more money that you dont have. The bank penalties will be harsh when reality kicks in. If you need help with money problems, deal with them now and don't wait till after Christmas. Its easier to ask for help than you could imagine. Try CAB. Good Luck.x

You can but don't be surprised if you have pay dearly for it. Cash advances on credit cards are always set at a higher interest rate than card purchases, if you have exceeded your spending limit and the company choses not to extend your limit, you'll pay even more for it.
It seems likely if cash machines are blocking you then the cash back facility in stores will do the same, which is much more shaming than facing a rejecting machine!
