What would be a good first credit card, given my situation?

Friday, January 9th, 2009

I am 19 years old, a college student, I have a full time job, and so far the only thing on my credit history is 1 year's worth of on-time payments for my vehicle. None late. I'm not interesting in applying for a card because I need it, I am applying because I'd like to add something else to my credit report to show a good payment history as well. Nothing too over-the-top, preferably with a predictable interest rate; that's what I'm looking for. Any advice?

Just use the credit card for shopping and pay it in time, and your credit score will grow. Here is some most popular credit card offers to establish credit – cardnow.undonet.com

is a credit rewards card a good deal and what's out there?

Friday, January 9th, 2009

I pay almost all of my bills on my credit card every month and probably put between 1-2 thousand dollars on it a month, then pay it off in full at the end of the month when I get paid.

I'm wondering if some type of rewards card would be good for my situation. I've got great credit and have never missed a payment on anything. Wondering if anybody out there knows if this is just a marketing scheme or if there are any good ones out there?

can i get cash back on my credit card if im over my limit?

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

when i go to bells or tesco and pay for anyhting with my credit card they ask me if i want cashback. my card has a £100 limit and i have tried takking money from a cash machine but it wont let me, will it work in this circumstance?~?

I ASSUME YOU MEAN your daily cash withdrawal limit if so once you have reached the £100 limit for the day it will be impossible to exceed this either by cash back or machine
this is a tact you could have a million pounds in the bank but the computer will not allow you to exceed your daily limit under any circumstances AND ANYONE WHO SAYS DIFFERENT IS COMPLETELY WRONG so save yourself the embarrassment at the queue and don't try it.

If you have purchased goods to the value of £100 you will still be able to have a cash back up to the stores limit and you daily cash limit, purchases don't count against your limit it is only actual cash withdrawals that count towards your limit

How do I cancel my Credit Card off of my World of Warcraft account and do I still get my first month?

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

My mother let me use her credit card, I activated my account to the Full Game instead of the trial. Now that it's activated can I get the card off my account and still hae that 1 month until I go get a came card?

As long as you are still within your first month of service, you can select "Change Subscription" and either leave the information blank, or enter a prepaid gaming card. If you do this within your free month, your Credit Card WILL NOT BE CHARGED. However, you do need to cancel the credit card information on the site, or when the prepaid game card runs out, your credit card WILL be charged.

You will be able to play World of Warcraft as long as you are within your free month, and your account will be accessible and playable until that month is up.

From there, you will need to buy subscription cards ($30 at most gaming stores) that will allot you 2 months of gametime. You enter this information in Account Services the same way you would a credit card (but in a different spot).

You may even get a game subscription card, cancel the credit card charge, and enter the game subscription number to maintain uninterrupted service.

Please understand that you You WILL be charged for the game upgrade, if you did a digital download/online upgrade instead of purchasing discs, but you WILL NOT be charged on the credit card for the game time if you are still within your free month.

If you do not like prepaid game cards, you may also use PayPal or PaymentOne.

Looking for a good airline rewards credit card. I have an AMEX delta but have not been very happy with it.?

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

I am planning on switching to something else. Anyone have any good suggestions?

Thanks

Don't cancel your Delta, send a secured message via Amex website or call customer service to convert your Delta to another Amex product like Amex Blue as mentioned.

This way you don't get hit with another hard inquiry, will keep the original account opening date and you'll have a card you can hopefully use.

What should I look for when applying for a credit card for the first time as a 19 year old college student?

What should I look for when applying for a credit card account? Im mostly going to use it for big time emergencies when im low on cash or something. I dont want it to be high in interest rates and things like that, definitley don't want to be in credit card debt.
oh by the way i live in Michigan… if that matters? lol

How to get first credit card?

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

I have been to all the stores (sears, JC Penny, etc) I have also tried applying with my bank and capital one. I can not get approved anywhere. Please, I want to start building my credit and I am only looking to be approved for a small amount. If anyone knows a good first card, please let me know!!
I am 18. I have a checking account with a debit card. But a debit card doesnt raise your credit. I have already tried stores.

Chase gave me my first credit card outside of my bank.

But then that was after already having my bank credit card and a car payment, so you MAY need to build credit up. But try chase, you'll probably get approved for like 500. (I'm assuming you're 18 with no credit)
